At IHOP
I compared Mary’s CafĂ©, located only in the great Winston Salem, NC and IHOP also located in Winston Salem, NC as well as everywhere else around the United States. These two restaurants both are recognized as breakfast being their specialty, but serve other things as well. Though they may seem alike, that is about the only thing they have in common. When I went to Mary’s their hospitality alone is enough to make me want to come back; but their food was very unique and unlike your average breakfast. Mary’s serves entrees such as The Apple Butter Baby which consists of Smoked sausage, apple butter & scrambled eggs on whole wheat toast at the price of $4.89. They also have foods such as: Granola, Cinnamon French Toast, Breakfast Burrito, Egg and Vegetable Scramble and you can even build your own omelet. Then there was IHOP. Everyone loves IHOP and all their delicious breakfast items. They have all your normal foods like omelets, eggs, sausages and pancakes (of course). Their prices are slightly higher than Mary’s, but it’s not a drastic difference. IHOP’s service is also very good. It’s a little less “get to know you” but their service is a fast and easy process. The biggest difference in these two restaurants is how they are viewed by American’s. Most American’s just trust what is commercial and most common more than something they’ve never seen before, like something local. Putting that into this scenario, IHOP is known as “An American Icon”, so naturally the normal American would go there rather than some local place called Mary’s in Winston Salem, NC. I believe it’s good to have chains such as Starbucks and IHOP, but we also need to try to support our local facilities such as Krankies and Mary’s.
Over all I thought this was prretty good but I really think you should have first explained what the lab was about before you came up with the conclusion because I found myself as the reader a bit lost until I got further into your conclusions. Good job though and I loved all the pictures!!!

Mary's is awesome! I ate there the very first day when I came to audition here! I would have to say that they are somewhat better than IHOP in some ways and vice versa. Good job though.

ReplyDeletehaha I love the idea! It made me quite hungry while reading :)
ReplyDeleteThe most important thing about America in this situation is that we will always have a choice. We can go to the big-time restaurant, but the small-time eateries are there, too, and we have the ability to go to either one whenever.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your blog. You took on really interesting labs and completed them with creativity, analysis, and insight! Bravo. You guys did a great job. I especially liked the video of Sara putting Andrea's cell phone in the grave, and the surveys of trust. Great work! WH@@T!
